The GSB External Relations team is seeking a Director of Data and Digital Operations. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape the digital transformation and data strategies that drive our External Relations efforts across our fundraising, alumni relations and operations teams. Job purpose
- Interpret, monitor, and analyze alumni information related to programs, procedures, demographics, and operational outcomes.
- Transform and translate data into actionable insights to guide strategic planning and decision-making across External Relations.
- Conduct data pulls, manage reporting, strengthen processes for data requests.
- Responsible for the Data and Digital team’s operational effectiveness.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs to expose platform features as microservices.
- Manage alumni data and systems within the GSB, collaborating with key stakeholders across External Relations, the school, and university departments such as the Alumni Association (SAA), Office of Development (OOD), and University IT (UIT).
- Handle compliance with informational requests from various teams across the GSB and the broader university campus community.
- Lead the analysis of organizational insights, explaining past events, predicting future outcomes, and assessing the potential impacts of changes.
- Present data in clear, engaging, and unbiased formats to highlight operational strengths, opportunities, and threats.
As the Director of Data and Digital Operations, you will:
Your responsibilities include
- Drive digital and data transformation strategies via development of a GSB Alumni Data Strategy. Streamline operations through technology innovation.
- Advocate for GSB needs by developing strong partnerships with school and university data and technology teams.
- Foster a data-centric culture to optimize operations.
- Serve as the primary point person for gathering and reporting of alumni data.
- Develop and execute strategies for data performance improvement.
- Manage digital platforms and ensure accurate data integration.
- Create actionable reports and recommend business intelligence improvements.
- Collaborate across External Relations teams to identify data needs and optimize workflows.
- Manage digital platforms, including but not limited to web content management systems, event and community platforms and mobile applications.
- Oversee alumni data governance, ensuring data privacy and compliance.
- Supervise staff, providing leadership and professional development.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience with alumni/donor communication is highly desired but not required.
- Proven track record in digital communication strategy development and execution.
- Experience managing community platforms or similar digital assets.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners
- Proficiency in analyzing digital metrics and using insights to drive engagement and growth.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and brand consistency.
- Experience in developing systems and workflows to improve efficiencies and customer service is a plus.
