J&J Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A), Asia Pacific (AP). AP is one of the world’s fastest evolving regions, and BI is a critical role supporting cross functional teams across a range of therapy areas driving insight-based decision making.

In this role, you will be partnering with commercial, BI and various cross functional teams across AP to deliver analytical insights, design the KPI framework, identifying areas of business opportunities and risks that enable strategic decision making, while driving operational excellence, transparency and strong execution.

They will play a crucial role in supporting tracking of leading indicators of business performance through primary market research – providing inputs on the research design, logistical coordination of workshops and readouts to drive informed decision-making within the commercial organization, this role specifically focuses on market research capability within BI&A CoE.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to align on research objectives, study design, formulate key business questions and hypothesis to be tested in research.
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical business landscape – market dynamics, customer engagement channels, regulatory environments, to effectively inform market research strategies, designs and recommendations.
  • Act as subject matter expert on market research methodologies, data analysis techniques, best practices and provide support to internal teams to enhance research capabilities and effectiveness
  • Market research and syndicated data management:

o Build strong understanding of key therapeutic areas related to Janssen’s portfolio and stay undated on latest developments, treatment modalities, emerging trends to provide strong recommendations during primary market research studies

o Oversee the collection, integration, and validation of market research and syndicated data from various sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.

o Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions and workshops top disseminate market research findings including sharing of insights from market research studies with relevant stakeholders across Janssen including executive leadership to drive informed decision making

  • Develop and maintain data governance standards to guarantee data integrity and compliance with pharma regulations, implement efficient data management processes and tools to enhance accessibility and usability of data via the various platforms on J&J

o Be a proactive advocate for the value of market research within the organization.

  • Business Insights & Analytics:
    • Gain understanding of key business priorities, identify and gather appropriate data to be analyzed, employ best in class analytical methods and tools, and generate, deliver and embed meaningful market insights and recommendations.
    • Surface opportunities and risks against plans based on sound analytics and insight generation, lead efforts to benchmark and assess competitive intelligence data, identifying key differentiators and competitive advantage.

o Contribute to building enterprise capability in advanced analytics and drive forward thinking predictive analytics partnering with the data science team, staying abreast of advances in technology and analytics tools relevant to market research to drive continuous improvements.

  • Business Engagement & Partnering:
    • Work with cross functional stakeholders within the business including Marketing, IT, Finance, Global /Local BI, regional commercial excellence to deliver cohesive view of the market, including the opportunities and risks.

o Proactively build strong connections and foster collaborative relationships with commercial teams including sales, marketing and commercial excellence to drive insight-based decision making.

  • Vendor Management:
    • Define and respond to key business questions by synergizing the capabilities of internal and external partners in the fields of market research, analytics, forecasting and competitive intelligence.
    • Ensure optimal use of existing platform functionality and strategic review of emerging capabilities.
    • Manage relationship with external data providers to ensure continuity of service and assess new offerings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, science or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-3 years pharmaceutical and / or relating to business intelligence, data visualization or equivalent field is required
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel with deep experience in complex Excel models and large data sets
  • Advanced skills in Power point and presentation skills to concisely and skillfully present market and company data
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across functional areas and markets
  • Self-starter mindset and keen interest in continuous learning and being aware of advances in data visualization, statistical modeling, database design
  • Experience partnering with and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data, interpret data, and process observations into actional recommendations
  • Ability to interact with and influence senior leadership teams
